Job Description

REPORTS TO       : Head of Life Sciences Consulting

EXPERIENCE       : 12-15 years; 5-8 years of client management experience

EDUCATION         : PG in Pharmacy/ Biotech/ Microbiology or a Medical Doctor (MBBS/BDS/BAMS), MBA a plus

LOCATION            : India

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This is a leadership role with techno-commercial responsibilities. Key accountabilities include –

  • ACCOUNT LEADERSHIP:
    • REVENUE GROWTH: will own and grow identified strategic account(s) by using farming interventions, anticipating client’s emerging business needs, and by identifying/designing high-value client propositions
    • GOVERNANCE: will strengthen client relationships by driving a governance agenda, maintaining proactive communication, and by exceeding client expectations across projects/long-term engagements
  • PRACTICE DEVELOPMENT: will own the development of consulting capabilities and other service lines; optimize team’s productivity and improve cost structures; manage practice and project-level risks; and lead capability showcases in meetings with clients/prospects
  • DELIVERY OWNERSHIP: will own and contribute hands-on to project design, planning, and delivery of advisory/research/analytics projects; review the work done by team members; ensure the highest quality standards by actively contributing insightful analysis and presentation of data; help team members acquire new skills and support them in delivering increasingly superior quality work
  • New Service(s)/Product Development: will own the responsibility to develop new solution(s), service(s), and product(s) for the life sciences clients globally, esp. in the Competitive Intelligence area, including new deliverable formats, partnerships, etc.

OTHER IMPORTANT ASPECTS OF ROLE

  • Will actively support Sales/Presales efforts with subject matter expertise and solutioning skill

Qualifications

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Deep and broad experience in the life sciences (Pharma/MDD; across TAs such as CVM, Immunology, Neuro, Onco, Derma, Gastro, other); should be knowledgeable of industry trends and key challenges
  • Business acumen: needs to be able to drive revenue growth and profitability by identifying/capturing commercial opportunities, by establishing and articulating value stories in solving client problems
  • Strong research/consulting skills: proven ability to structure research questions, plan and execute research—both qualitative and quantitative—and drive strategic insights through in-depth analysis
  • Client facing experience is a must. Needs to engage clients by developing and delivering compelling engagement structures, reports/ presentations and by leading project/ industry-related conversations
  • In addition to secondary research skills, hands-on experience in Quantitative Modeling (forecasting, market sizing, other analytics) and Primary Market Research would be highly valuable for this role
  • High level of proficiency in MS-Office applications – PowerPoint and Excel in particular
  • Familiarity with databases (clinicaltrials.gov, pubmed, IQVIA data, other subscription databases)

GOOD TO HAVE

  • Cross-cultural experience of working with teams and clients based in the US/EU
